Feb. 14, 2007 - Just like people, some foods and beverages are meant to be together, no matter what public opinion says. Sure, some skeptics might think chocolate and wine are an odd couple, but many culinary experts think they make a perfect pair, especially for Valentine's Day.
Eggs don't make the birthday cake. In fact, in some households, cake doesn't even make the birthday cake. We've celebrated more than one birthday at my house with slabs of apple pie. But, of course, most kids think birthday cake is a must. And Susan N. wondered just how she was going to help her son, who is allergic to eggs, celebrate with a traditional cake.
